Firefighter Chad Cox from Wichita Fire Dept sent in this video of yet another forcible entry option for a door with a panic bar. This method may appear to be time consuming, and may not be everyone’s first choice, but it is another option. It might be a useful backup plan.

Looks like it worked pretty good. It seems as a useful option to remember when all else fails.
Certainly not the first line of attack, but a prime teaching tool to drive home having a back up plan when technology/equipment fails and the importance of the irons on the fireground.
I like this simply because it shows how useful the old fashioned Irons can be in the hands of skilled firemen. Always know how to use your tools!
Another option is always great to have. Good use of the irons is key to successful truck company ops, and another card in the deck makes your company that much more effective.
Good for an engine company with no saws! Calling in the truck may take almost the same amount of time…
Instead of using the horizontal opening, try makeing it vertical thus giving yourself a larger working angle.
Great videos! These are nice videos to show the rest of the guys in our volunteer group.
Why not pull the hinges? Then use the irons to “pop” the door from the hinge side? Still the video shows “think outside of the box”!!!
I like this idea , more then pulling hinges. Due to the fact you can still control the door this way.
not too time consuming if youre proficient I suppose. Definately something to keep in mind.
