Deceiving Building Features

Building Construction features are sometimes a little bit deceiving. Developers are constantly trying to make their building look a little different, or a little bit nicer then the others. Fire Department access or Firefighter Safety
is never even considered.

This may originally appear like a heavy gauge metal security gate.

Upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the "gate" is in fact light weight metal and is equipped with panic hardware.

Opening the "gate" is as simple as reaching in an manipulating the panic hardware. Unfortunately, no saw work necessary.

A quick look at the hinges reveals the lightweight construction.


 

These windows are aesthetically barred with light weight metal. Even though these bars are light weight, they would still require some effort if removal was necessary.

Here is a close-up of the window bar connection. It is obvious that removal would be relativity simple. If this window was used for ventilation or secondary egress removal of the bars would be necessary.
