We’re sure many of you have seen this video before, but it’s always fun to see it again. Watch closely as the ladder truck rounds the corner. Of course we all know this wouldn’t have happened if the Engine would have left the front of the building for the Truck Company! Just kidding.Â

Looks like the driver was a little to amped up!!! Stay calm!
And that’s why we shouldn’t let probies drive the rigs!!!
WTF was the Officer on both of those trucks doing! No matter who is driving or what it is the Officer needs to keep an eye on the Chauffer and reel him in at times, It’s part that whole “Company Commander” thing.
I really didn’t think this was funny at all. By the grace God we didn’t witness a tragedy. This is your job. calm down.
I had a good officer tell me once “you don’t see the garbage man getting excited and worked up to pick up the trash because it’s his job, this is our job don’t get all worked up, perform like a professional.”
Good point ME! I heard a similar one…You don’t hear panic from the back of a McDonalds when you order a Big Mac do you? The cook is expecting that.
I don’t think I could have navigated my tower in the same manner without it going on it’s side…dem der engine boys gotta leave the front for the ladder:)
it might just be me… but i dont have any video on the post
Don’t blame it on the engine company stopping short, we are suppose to be in control of the apparatus at all times. Both rigs pulled in way to fast, the ladder was following to close to the engine. What if a pedistrian was in the way, or a kid on a bike or even a parked car. Looks like everyone got amped up over the smoke showing and probably the fully involved report. It’s not our emergency, slow down and be safe. Don’t get killed or kill someone for a building that is already a total loss.
I showed this to my Engineer. Should be must-see-tv for any driver.
That is definetly a “Holy S**t” moment. This could have been prevented by knowing your area, in addition to calming down.
This is why it says “stay back 500 ft” on the back of trucks…
maybe they should have slowed down, just a thought.
