“This blog is intended to promote real Truck work. It’s a place to post stories, articles, and ideas. No PPV here! Truck work saves lives. Actually, the real purpose of this blog is to act a Jeff’s official soapbox. Anyone who knows Ponzie, knows that this will prove to be funny, yet educational.†April 1, 2006
That simple statement was the first ever post on VentEnterSearch.com exactly one year ago today! One year ago, we decided to create a neutral, unbiased and un-intimidating medium were we could share ideals methods and techniques of this truly great and noble profession. We truly believe that firefighting is an art, and we want to protect the art for generations to come. The avenue to a safer fire service is by being pro-active rather than re-active in both our training and our tactics. We want to bring back the aggressive yet safe attitude to the fire service, in order to continue to protect each other on the fire ground. This can only be accomplished through educating each other and sharing ideas, tips and tricks.
We can honestly say that our first year has been much more of a success then we could have ever possibly imagined. We started this website with the intentions of sharing some information on the local level. It quickly became so much more then that. We have gotten emails, comments, and material from people across the nation, and even have some of our Canadian brethren following the site. The thought never crossed our minds that this is what would have become of the site after 12 short months. The overwhelming success of this site would not be possible without each and every one of you. No amount of thanks could possibly be enough. It is because of you, our loyal readers, that this site is what it is!
Here are some of the statistics from our first year:
We have had 80 posts, with 480 comments.
We have had 95,000 visits to the site, with an average of 700 per day.
We have had 1,768,000 “hits”
Thanks again for an amazing first year! Stay safe, and train hard! -Jeff & Jimm-
Happy Birthday to you guys. I think that the what you see is what you get, what you give is what you get approach to the site has really defined your website as a leader among Fire Training Sites. It seems as though your site has become a leading daily site view by many Firefighters. Keep up the good work and it will continue to grow.
I think that applause are also in order for the comments and those who have made them. I have viewed the site daily for a long time now and I have yet to see even a slightly negative comment.
So here’s to many more years of the Tricks, Tips, and expertise that the site offers.
Gents,
We, the contributors of VentEnterSearch.com, appreciate all those whom have given their personal time by contributing to this site. We’ll indefinitely appreciate your contributions. As the song goes…”He ain’t heavy, He’s my brother and on we go!”
Congrats Jeff and Jimm for this successful endeavor.

Happy Birthday to all of you! Great job with the site. I can’t wait to see what comes from here during the next year.
Stay safe, and we’ll see you at the Big ONE!!
Happy Birthday and one hell of a job you all are doing on this site. Keep up the great work. To quote another famous saying.. “If you build it, they will come.”
This might be one of the best sites for truckies to come and get tips and hits on making the job easier. I check everyday to see if there are more articles and tips. This site is excellent for training ideas as well. Keep up the great work, this is an excellent site to view and i tell everyone in my department about it.
Congrats brothers,
Just wanted to say THANKS for the site. Firefighting and TRUCK work are becoming a lost art, and we senior members of the fire service need to “PASS IT ON”. Because I feel we are still losing members because younger members can not get the experiences, cause the fire load is dwindling. And WE are not sharing our experiences. So to the new guys and the younger members ASK QUESTIONS. To everyone STAY SAFE!
BRAVO GUYS!
One of hopefully many to come. Ive learned alot from the site! Keep up the good work brothers!
Great site, great job, and keep up the great work!
While truck work is a must on every scene, the real work is convincing everyone that it should be the first thought, and not an after thought. This site is helping change that mindset. I love it when a ‘youngster’ talks about this site and the info contained within it, and I see their enthusiasm and the fire in their eyes. That my brothers has been missing in the service lately. It is nice that they can find this info on their own and see that this stuff is for real, has relevance, and is not something that the Training & Safety Division made up for kicks and giggles. Long and short of it, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
STAY LOW STAY SAFE & TRAIN EVERYDAY
Happy Birthday and thanks for a great site Brothers.
My department does not have a truck so it’s sometimes tough to get the guys out of Engine Company “squirt water” mode and remind them that even without a truck, the truck work still has to get done.
Thanks for the tips and tricks that make this easier.
Looking forward to many more years!
Guys…
This site is awesome. Keep up the good work and thanks for the training.
